The school has suspended its summer conditioning sessions for fall sports because of the positive tests.
Foxcroft Academy has suspended summer workouts for its fall sports teams after two athletes tested positive for COVID-19, the school announced in a press release. The Maine Principals’ Association is allowing schools to conduct conditioning sessions but has pushed back the start of full team practices until Sept.8. While most schools in Cumberland and York counties have chosen to delay the start of in-person athletic activities until Aug.24, conditioning sessions have continued in other parts of the state. “Unfortunately, this is probably foreshadowing what will come this fall as we know the virus exists everywhere,” said Arnold Shorey, Foxcroft Academy’s Head of School.
