Xiaomi celebrates its 10th birthday by announcing a new super-premium phone: the Mi 10 Ultra.
Xiaomi is celebrating 10 years of making smartphones by releasing a new and improved version of its Mi 10 smartphone from earlier in the year. This new smartphone is the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra, and it’s even more top-end than the Mi 10 Pro, with an improved screen, tweaked cameras and much quicker charging than its predecessors. Like all Xiaomi Mi smartphones, this new powerhouse has been announced in China initially, but that doesn’t mean it won’t come to the rest of the world at some point, and we’re crossing our fingers for a global launch very soon. For now, that means we don’t know a release date or price for the new phone, but we do know all its specs and features, and we can make educated guesses about what we don’t know. We don’t know the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra’s release date or price outside China, because the launch event was only in that country, but when we find out we’ll be sure to update you. In China the Mi 10 Ultra is available in four combinations: 8GB RAM and 128GB storage,8GB / 256GB,12GB / 256GB and 16GB / 512GB. Prices range from ¥5,299 to ¥6,999 – that translates to roughly $760-$1,000, £580-£770, and AU$1,060-AU$1,400. Prices likely won’t be exact conversions in those regions, and in fact we wouldn’t expect the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra to come to the US at all, since Xiaomi doesn’t sell its phones there. With all the improvements the Ultra brings, we expect it’ll cost more than the Mi 10 Pro, which in Australia cost AU$1,999 (about $1,290 or £1,030).
