Former Trump legal advisor Sidney Powell has filed an emergency petition for the U.S. Supreme Court to hear one of her widely-maligned “Kraken” lawsuits, which is rife in conspiracy theories, in a last-ditch effort before the Electoral College meets to select Joe Biden as the next president of the United States. The Electoral College meets on Monday. Powell has pressed on with her suits aiming to overturn the election results in favor of President Donald Trump, who soundly lost to President-elect Biden by more than 7 million votes, even as the Trump campaign officially cut ties with her as she pushed theories more and more on the fringe.
