You’re not alone if you’ve tried — and failed — to get your hands on Sony’s new PlayStation 5 over the last few months. The new PS5 console is nearly impossible to find and major retailer stores such as Target, Best Buy, GameStop, Walmart and Amazon have had consistently low inventory that cannot keep up with demand. Restocks typically sell out within moments, and now the PS5 is the fastest-selling console in US history. As of April 3, no regular retailers have the PlayStation in stock. Despite occasional PS5 inventory drops at various stores, the gaming console remains sold out in both of its configurations: the $500 model with Blu-ray and the less expensive $400 digital-only edition with no optical drive.
