The Grammy Award-winning musician and producer shares the details of a new partnership with Harmless Harvest
Earlier this month DJ Khaled took to TikTok to launch a “Dairy FreeStyle Challenge”. The promotion—for a coconut water/plant-based yogurt brand called Harmless Harvest —encourages participants to rap over a beat laid down by the Grammy Award-winning musician and producer. A winner will be chosen from entries submitted over the social media platform, and they’ll receive free concert tickets. For the eminently accessible Khaled, it affords yet another way to connect with his massive fanbase. But it’s also an opportunity for him to express his dedication to a dairy-free lifestyle with his 3 million+ TikTok followers. Many of whom may not be aware that the performer pays mind to such considerations. DJ Khaled’s most recent musical output, Khaled Khaled, hit number one on the Billboard 200 back in May. But I couldn’t believe—when they said we couldn’t go nowhere—they actually were going to give a guy like me this much time to think; to be even more greater? You’re going to give a guy like me this much time to get recharged? So I looked at the pandemic as securing the next 100 years! And did you make any changes to your self-care regimen? For sure. We all went through the same situation where we all sat around a lot. You gotta watch what you eat and how you eat. I was blessed to have a chef to help me maintain through the pandemic, to eat good, to eat healthy.
