ESTILL, S.C. (AP) — A lawyer from a prominent South Carolina legal family who found his wife and son shot to death at their home three months ago was shot and wounded Saturday after he had car trouble on a lonely rural road, a family attorney said. Alex Murdaugh was heading to Charleston when his car had stopped on Salkehatchie Road in Hampton County and someone shot him, his lawyer Jim Griffin told The State newspaper. Murdaugh was taken to the hospital, said Griffin, who didn’t know how badly he was hurt. Griffin said he had talked to another family member. The State Law Enforcement Division said it was investigating a shooting in Hampton County, but wouldn’t confirm Murdaugh was the victim or give any other information.
