The setting can slightly shrink down the entire aspect ratio on a MacBook Pro when it’s enabled on certain apps.
Apple’s new MacBook Pros have received rave reviews, particularly the 14-inch model. But one gripe we have is the notch, an obtrusive black bar that can sometimes block out the top of your app windows, especially menu bar items. In response, Apple is pointing out a new function called “scale to fit below built-in camera” that can prevent the notch from intruding on your apps. However, the option can do so at the cost of screen real estate by slightly shrinking the entire viewing window. On Wednesday, a web designer named Joseph Angelo Todaro demoed the feature in action. As you can see, the function decreases the entire screen aspect ratio, scaling down the area around all four borders.
