By Daryna Antoniuk More than 100 civilians were evacuated on Sunday from the Azovstal steel plant in Mariupol. It is the first evacuation from Azovstal. Around 1,000 civilians, mostly women and children, are still trapped there. Russians resumed the shelling of Azovstal in the evening of May 1. The Ukrainian government will continue to evacuate people from Mariupol on Monday. About 100,000 people are still trapped in the city, which has been severely damaged by Russian shelling, missiles, bombs and attacks. U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi traveled to Kyiv with a congressional delegation on Saturday. She has become the most high-level U.S. official to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky since Russia invaded Ukraine.
