Netflix officially greenlit a second season of its most-watched series, Squid Game. The South Korean survival drama, created by Hwang Dong-hyuk, follows a cast of characters in financial ruins who risk their lives to play a sequence of deadly children’s games to win a prize of ₩45.6 billion ($38 million at time of original broadcast). Feeling pressured by the immense public demand for more bloodshed, Hwang in November said that « there will indeed be a second season. » At that point, though, the show was « in my head », he said.
