The new foldable phone was launched at the Unpacked 2022 event alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Galaxy Watch 5 series. Samsung has, more or less, fine-tuned the foldable experience on the Galaxy Z Flip 4. The phone, which comes as a successor to the Galaxy Z Flip 3, has some key improvements in the performance, battery and design departments.

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 gets some subtle changes on the outside. The frame is slightly flatter now to match the design language of the Galaxy S22 series. The sides are made of metal, whereas the outer shell of the Z Flip 4 and the Z Flip 3 are made of glass.
The bezels around the Z Flip 4’s foldable display are slightly slimmer than the outgoing Flip 3. The hinge that helps in the folding mechanism is also 1.2mm slimmer while being more sturdier.
While the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3 are the same in terms of thickness, the former weighs about 4 grams heavier than the Flip 3 at 187 grams. Both phones, when folded, measure 17.1mm. In an unfolded state, they measure 6.9mm in terms of thickness.
