For not being in a Marvel Cinematic Universe project yet, Alison Brie has a complicated relationship with Marvel Studios, and it’s certainly not her fault. Both fans of hers and of the MCU have expressed a strong desire for her to join in on the superhero fun.
First, a rumor began floating around Twitter in early 2020 that Marvel Studios was looking for an “Alison Brie-type” to play She-Hulk in the Disney+ series of the same name, now premiering this Friday. Brie had fun with the rumors on The Late Late Show and the role eventually went to Tatiana Maslany.
On Monday, while promoting her film Spin Me Round, which screened at the Cinequest Film Festival, Alison told me she hasn’t had any discussions with Marvel Studios since the She-Hulk rumors began floating around.
