No one matched all six numbers to win the estimated $653 million Powerball jackpot Wednesday night.
The lottery game’s top prize has now climbed to an estimated $700 million, with a cash option of $375.7 million, ahead of the next drawing on Saturday.
If someone wins the estimated $700 million prize, it would be the sixth largest Powerball jackpot in the lottery game’s history.
After no big winner Wednesday night, the Powerball jackpot has grown once again.
The lottery game’s top prize has now climbed to an estimated $700 million, with a cash option of $375.7 million, ahead of the next drawing on Saturday. No one has won the Powerball jackpot since Nov. 19, causing the grand prize to grow bigger and bigger in recent months.
The chances of winning a Powerball jackpot are extremely slim, with odds standing at about 1 in 292.2 million.
If someone finally wins the jackpot on Saturday, the estimated $700 million would be the sixth largest prize in Powerball’s history. The $700 million prize would only be distributed if a winner selects an annuity option paid gradually over 29 years. Most jackpot winners opt for the cash option – and the final amount taken home depends on state and federal taxes.
How much will a lottery winner get after taxes? Jackpot shrinks quite a bit.
