Donald Trump supporters have reacted with fury to a recommendation that John Eastman, one of his election attorneys, be disbarred.
Donald Trump supporters have reacted with fury on social media after a judge called for this disbarment of John Eastman, a lawyer accused of being involved in efforts to reverse the 2020 presidential election outcome.
The recommendation was made by State Bar Court of California Judge Yvette Roland on March 27 after she investigated a complaint initially filled in 2023 by the California State Bar. Roland concluded Eastman had engaged in « misconduct » and ruled against him on 10 of the 11 charges initially filed.
Eastman is the latest Trump-affiliated figure to face legal difficulties. Trump himself is facing four criminal trials over allegations he orchestrated the payment of hush money to an adult film actress, mishandled classified documents, and attempted to overturn Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory nationwide and in the state of Georgia specifically. The former president, and presumptive 2024 Republican presidential candidate, has pleaded not guilty to all counts and has denied any wrongdoing.
A number of Republicans and supporters of Trump’s Make America Make Again movement criticized Roland’s recommendation on X, formerly Twitter.
