The Samsung Galaxy M55 5G was launched in India a few days ago as a new mid-range offering priced at Rs 26,999. The handset features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC, a 5,000mAh battery, Android 14 OS, and an sAMOLED Plus display, among other things. We recently reviewed the phone and found it to be quite impressive for its price. In this article, we tell you why you should consider buying the Samsung Galaxy M55 5G and why you should skip it.4 reasons to buy Samsung Galaxy M55 5G
The Samsung Galaxy M55 sports a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Plus Infinity-O Display with 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1000 nits peak brightness. The Super AMOLED panels on Samsung phones are known for their impressive colours. They are quite punchy and vibrant, which perfectly suits gaming and media consumption requirements.
The brightness levels, while not the greatest in the segment, are decent and we were able to see the content on the screen in moderate sunlight. The better sunlight-reflecting nature of the Super AMOLED panel aids in this. The 120Hz refresh rate makes scrolling through the UI butter smooth. There is also Widevine L1 certification, which allows for FHD streaming on OTT platforms.
The Samsung Galaxy M55 5G packs a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging support.  The battery life of the phone is quite decent and was able to score 12 hours and 58 minutes on the PC Mark battery test. This suggests the phone can last one full day with moderate usage. We didn’t notice any abnormal battery drain during idle conditions.
Samsung is not bundling a charger in the box, so users will have to purchase it separately.
