Social media post made it appear that Ebrahim Raisi had information on Hillary Clinton and « stuff on Boeing. »
Investigators are yet to reveal new information about the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who was killed in a helicopter crash in the mountains of northern Iran on Sunday.
Raisi died on the way to the city of Tabriz after returning from the border with Azerbaijan. Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and the governor of Iran’s East Azerbaijan province, General Malek Rahmati, were also among those killed.
With further information yet to be disclosed, one viral post on social media seemingly hinted that Raisi had information on Hillary Clinton before he was killed.
The Claim
A post on X, formerly Twitter, by Bellingcat founder Eliot Higgins, posted on May 19, 2023, viewed 533,000 times, included what appeared to be a screengrab of the X account of President Raisi that said in English: « I have information that will lead to Hillary Clinton’s arrest (and stuff on Boeing too). »
The Facts
The deaths of public figures have given rise on multiple occasions to claims that they had important information before they died, implying they were killed for possessing it.
