Dwayne Johnson explained his recent weight loss was for his upcoming role as the Chicken Man in the film « Lizard Music, » where he plays a whimsical 70-year-old character.
Dwayne « The Rock » Johnson revealed the reason behind his recent slim down that left fans surprised.
Johnson, 53, explained that he’s been losing weight for an upcoming film called « Lizard Music. » He described his character as « a very whimsical and eccentric 70-something-year-old man called the Chicken Man. And his best friend is a 70-something-year-old chicken. » He joked that in preparation for the role, he’s been eating « less chicken. »
« I’m so excited because I get a chance to hopefully transform again like I was able to do in ‘Smashing Machine' », he said at a Toronto International Film Festival event on Sept. 8, per People. « Can’t wait. »
« This is me slimmed down », Johnson said. « In the process of slimming down. I still have a long ways to go. »
Johnson debuted his leaner look at the Venice Film Festival on Aug. 25. The actor’s lean look was captured in video from the event.
« Yep had to do a double take. » one X user commented.
« He’s so lean », a fan commented.
« The Rock slimming down and still owning every room… legendary glow-up unlocked », another chimed in.
Before slimming down, Johnson transformed into MMA fighter Mark Kerr for the sports drama « The Smashing Machine. » In an interview with Vanity Fair, Johnson explained that this was the first role in years that made him nervous.
« It was very real. I had not experienced that in a very, very, very long time, where I was really scared and thinking, ‘I don’t know if I can do this. Can I do this?’ »
He added, « I realized that maybe these opportunities weren’t coming my way because I was too scared to explore this stuff. »
To properly take on the role, Johnson wore 13 to 14 prosthetics every day and would just « disappear » when he walked on set.
« I just sat in front of that mirror for three to four hours and watched it all change. There were about 13 or 14 different prosthetics. Subtle, yet I think very impactful. By the time I got to set, I was Mark Kerr and I felt it, from how he walked to how he talked and how he looked at life », he said.

iPhone 17 camera: The biggest camera upgrade in a while

0

The iPhone 17 lineup doubles down on cameras — except for the one that doesn’t.
Apple has officially unveiled the iPhone 17 lineup, and the cameras play a central role once again. The standard iPhone 17 gets an upgraded ultrawide camera, the new iPhone Air trims things down to a single rear camera, and the iPhone 17 Pro models step up with a redesigned camera module housing three 48 MP cameras.
iPhone 17 camera: 48 MP ultrawide and a revamped front cameraThe iPhone 17 keeps the familiar 48 MP main camera with 2x digital zoom, but this year Apple has upgraded the ultrawide from 12 MP to 48 MP. We assume it has the same sensor used on the Pro models, which means double the resolution (defaulting to 24 MP) and improved macro photography, since the higher-resolution ultrawide also handles close-up shots. On the front, Apple introduces a completely redesigned camera system called Center Stage. It uses a square sensor, Apple’s largest yet for a selfie camera, to support both portrait and landscape shots without having to rotate the phone. It can automatically expand the field of view when more people enter the frame, and photos reach up to 18 MP.
Video with the new selfie camera also benefits from stabilization improvements, borrowing technology from Action mode.
The thinnest iPhone ever, the iPhone 17 Air, adopts a single 48 MP rear camera that doubles as a 2x telephoto, just like every other iPhone with this camera. It also defaults to 24 MP, has updated Portraits with Focus control, and custom 28mm and 35mm framing options. On the front, the Air also features the new camera system with the same multi-composition tricks and support for simultaneous front and rear recording through the new Dual Capture video.
iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max: Triple 48 MP cameras and extended telephotoThe iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max move to an all-48MP triple-camera system. Each rear sensor is 48MP, including a new Telephoto camera housed in the extended plateau design. The Pro models continue to support Dolby Vision HDR, 4K120, and ProRes Log, but Apple has added ProRes RAW capture too. Support for Genlock is also new, enabling precise synchronization when using multiple cameras. These tools are aimed at professional content creators, including the new (for iPhone) Dual Capture video for recording with both front and rear cameras simultaneously.Apple has not announced 8K recording, and standard video frame rate details beyond 4K60 were not listed for the base iPhone 17.
Apple highlighted updates to its image processing pipeline and next-generation Portraits with Focus control.
The updated Portrait mode now lets you change the focus point after capture, works on more subjects including pets and objects, and delivers better results in low light thanks to deeper integration with the Photonic Engine. Depth information is captured automatically whenever the camera detects a person, pet, or similar subject, so you can decide to apply the portrait effect later even if you didn’t switch modes.
The front camera system introduces AI-assisted auto-expand and auto-rotate framing for group selfies. iOS 26 also brings refinements in HDR, skin tones, and low-light performance.
iPhone 17 and the PhoneArena Camera Score test: Our expectationsThe iPhone 16 series was a strong performer in our Camera Score tests, especially in video, though some rivals were ahead when it came to photos. With the iPhone 17 upgrading both rear cameras to 48 MP and debuting a new front camera, we expect a clear boost in the overall rating. For the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, the addition of a new 48 MP telephoto sensor with extended 8x zoom and new video-related features should push performance even further. We’ll update our evaluation after testing, but early impressions suggest Apple has worked to broaden and balance camera performance across all lenses, making the experience feel more consistent between the base and Pro models.

Lady Gaga has announced the MAYHEM Ball Tour, in support of her acclaimed new album, which will kick off in July. Here’s everything you need to know.
Music
Mother Monster is coming to a city near you.
It’s time to put your paws up once again because Mother Monster is hitting the road. On March 26, Lady Gaga announced the MAYHEM Ball Tour, in support of her acclaimed new album. The trek will begin in July, months after Gaga headlines Coachella in April and performs special one-off shows in Mexico City, Rio de Janeiro, and Singapore this spring.
The singer took to social media to announce the tour, revealing that it was a last-minute decision. “I wasn’t planning to tour this year after my shows in Singapore but the incredible response to the new album inspired me to keep things going,” she said. “It came together super quickly thanks to Arthur Fogel and the amazing team at Live Nation, who planned a global tour in just a few weeks.”
The MAYHEM Ball will mark Gaga’s first arena tour since 2018, which was also another intentional decision by Gaga, after playing stadiums around the world for 2022’s Chromatica Ball Tour.
“We chose arenas this time to give me the opportunity to control the details of the show in a way you simply can’t in stadiums—and honestly, I can’t wait,” she wrote. “This show is designed to be the kind of theatrical and electrifying experience that brings MAYHEM to life exactly how I envision it. The MAYHEM Ball Tour is officially coming your way. See you soon, monsters.”
The tour will officially kick off in Las Vegas on July 16. Gaga is scheduled to play multiple shows in just a few select cities across the U.S. and Canada, before crossing the pond to the U.K. and Europe. After performing at Coachella, she revealed additional shows in California.
Later in May, Gaga announced that the Mayhem Ball would head to Australia, marking her first shows in the country in over a decade. Read on for Gaga’s Mayhem Ball dates.
In June, Gaga announced that the Mayhem Ball would be heading to Japan at the beginning of 2026. On Sept. 9, after playing her sixth show at New York’s Madison Square Garden, she announced that she was bringing the tour back to North America in spring 2026, including two more shows at MSG. Read on for the new dates.
For the 2026 U.S. shows, Citi cardholders have first access to Mayhem Ball tickets through an exclusive presale that kicks off on Sept. 10 at 12 p.m. local time. Verizon members will get access to their presale the next day, Sept. 11, at noon local time. Gaga is also holding an Artist Presale on Sept. 12, which fans can sign up for through Ticketmaster.
Gaga is not using Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan program for this tour, meaning everyone who signs up for the Artist Presale before Sept. 11 will receive access. If you miss that sign-up window, tickets will be available to the general public on Sept. 15.

White House fumes over Epstein birthday book said to include notes by Trump, Clinton and other big names

0

WASHINGTON — The White House slammed the release of President Trump’s alleged birthday note to Jeffrey Epstein as “FAKE NEWS”– as.
The White House slammed the release of President Trump’s alleged birthday note to Jeffrey Epstein as “FAKE NEWS”– as other prominent names were revealed in the book celebrating the dead pedophile’s 50th birthday in 2003.
The full book, provided to Congress by Epstein’s estate, was released publicly by the Republican-led House Oversight Committee Monday evening after Democrats on the panel released only the Trump page.
Trump, 79, told NBC News Tuesday morning that “I don’t comment on something that’s a dead issue … I gave all comments to the staff. It’s a dead issue.”
The president previously denied drafting the page, which included a rough outline of a woman’s naked body and the words, “may every day be another wonderful secret,” and is suing News Corp, The Post’s parent company, after the Wall Street Journal first described the illustration in July.
Trump’s top spokespeople said that the signature did not appear to be the president’s, though the Journal assessed it to be consistent with some of Trump’s prior autographs.
“The latest piece published by the Wall Street Journal PROVES this entire ‘Birthday Card’ story is false,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt tweeted Monday.
Trump ended his association with Epstein in the mid-2000s — before Epstein pleaded guilty in 2008 to Florida charges of soliciting sex from a minor, which saw him confined for 13 months, much of which was spent on work release.
“As I have said all along, it’s very clear President Trump did not draw this picture, and he did not sign it. President Trump’s legal team will continue to aggressively pursue litigation. Furthermore, the ‘reporter’… who wrote this hatchet job reached out for comment at the EXACT same minute he published his story giving us no time to respond. This is FAKE NEWS to perpetuate the Democrat Epstein Hoax!”
Trump ended his association with Epstein in the mid-2000s — before Epstein pleaded guilty in 2008 to Florida charges of soliciting sex from a minor, which saw him confined for 13 months, much of which was spent on work release.
The president revealed in late July that Epstein’s poaching of masseuses from Mar-a-Lago caused their falling out.
Other eye-popping submissions allegedly compiled by the late sex trafficker’s accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell include a note from Clinton praising Epstein for his “childlike curiosity, the drive to make a difference, and the wealth of friends.”
Maxwell, currently serving a 20-year federal prison sentence, has alleged that Rosovsky received a “massage” at Epstein’s Manhattan home. The UK-born socialite has professed ignorance about possible misconduct by many other powerful men — including Trump, from whom Maxwell is seeking a pardon and whom she has claimed “was never inappropriate with anybody.”
Epstein attorney Alan Dershowitz, then a Harvard Law School professor, allegedly wrote: “As a birthday gift to you, I managed to obtain an early version of the Vanity Unfair article. I talked them into changing the focus from you to Bill Clinton.”
A number of entries in the birthday book make light of Epstein’s attraction to young women and girls.
One unsigned illustration shows Epstein holding out a lollipop and balloons to entice schoolchildren.
The late economist Henry Rosovsky, formerly dean of Harvard’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences, allegedly submitted a fingerprint-style impression of a woman’s breast, captioned, “Specially commissioned by Henry Rosovsky in honor of Jeffrey Epstein’s 50th barfday [sic].”
Les Wexner, the billionaire former CEO of Victoria’s Secret, also allegedly submitted an image of a breast, describing it as “what you want.”
Current British ambassador to the US Peter Mandelson allegedly submitted a photo of himself in a bathrobe next to Epstein with a note saying the financier “remains my best pal.”
A spokesperson for Mandelson told the BBC that the longtime Labour Party official “has long been clear that he very much regrets ever having been introduced to Epstein.”
Businessman Joel Pashcow, a Mar-a-Lago member, allegedly submitted an mocked-up image showing Epstein holding an oversized check selling a “fully depreciated” woman “to Donald Trump for $22,500.”
The Journal reported that the woman, shown in the background of the image, was a “wealthy European then in her 20s, [who] severed all ties with Epstein around 1997 and had no romantic relationship with either Epstein or Trump, her lawyer said.” The attorney called the note a “disgusting and deeply disturbing hoax” and said she doesn’t know Pashcow.
Mort Zuckerman, the billionaire former owner of the New York Daily News, allegedly wrote a note making apparent reference to Epstein’s mysterious career, including rumors of espionage work.
Zuckerman allegedly wrote he found records on Epstein in the since-diminished tabloid’s archives showing his “vital statistics, his birthday (23rd), his date of birth (July 11), his country of birth (Lichtenstein), his family life (wife, 3 children), and his profession.”
Some of the submissions and author names were redacted by the Epstein estate.
Other “Friends” of Epstein listed as making submissions included the late musician Ron Altbach; Apollo Global Management cofounder Leon Black; French modeling agent Jean-Luc Brunel, who killed himself in December 2020 while awaiting trial on charges of raping minors; Clearstone Venture Partners founder Bill Elkus; former Disney executive Bran Ferren; psychiatrist Henry Jarecki; Intellectual Ventures cofounder Nathan Myrhrvold; the late interior designer Alberto Pinto and chemist Stuart Pivar.
In addition to one anonymous entry, two names were redacted from the table of contents.
Apart from the “Friends” category were alleged submissions from “Science” figures including Garry Edelman, Murray Gellman, Steve Kosslyn, Martin Nowak and Lee Smolin — and more “Business” associates including Ace Greenberg, Jimmy Cayne, Ted Serure, Elliot Wolk and Ira Zicherman.
Epstein, who was found dead in his Manhattan jail cell Aug. 10, 2019, roared back into the headlines this year when Attorney General Pam Bondi ordered a massive review of documents from the case and teased potential bombshells in media interviews.
Bondi ultimately released a memo on July 7 asserting that there was no “client list” kept by Epstein and while the DOJ assessed that Epstein victimized more than 1,000 women and girls, there was no “evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties,” stoking a months-long outcry by pro-Trump activists and members of Congress demanding more information.

The Eternal Sunshine Tour will finally allow fans to hear Grande’s Grammy-nominated 2024 album, Eternal Sunshine, and its 2025 deluxe edition, Brighter Days Ahead, live. The singer teased some potential live shows in July, when she reassured fans that her music career was still thriving in an Instagram post. “I’m working on a plan to sing for you all next year, even if it’s just for a little,” she wrote. The Super-Skinny iPhone Air Is Peak Apple (For Better And Worse)

0

Apple has introduced the long-rumored iPhone Air, a model that boasts the slimmest and most durable design of any iPhone, ever.
« Design is at the core of everything we do », Apple CEO Tim Cook said to kick off the company’s September 2025 event. Underscoring that statement, Apple took the wraps off the latest models in its most successful hardware lineups, including the new iPhone 17 series with the long-rumored iPhone Air taking center stage. This marks the first time an Air model has been made available in the iPhone lineup, adding it alongside the MacBook Air and iPad Air options first launched more than a decade ago.
According to Apple, it designed the iPhone Air to « feel like a piece of the future », boasting a thickness of only 5.6 mm — making it the thinnest iPhone unveiled to date — and an overall ultra-durable design. Despite the massive reduction in size, Apple managed to pack an array of high-end features into the slim frame, promising the new model marks several « firsts » for the iPhone series as a whole — including being the most durable and efficient it has ever offered.Despite its slim profile, the iPhone Air is ultra-durable
Apple, likely anticipating the onslaught of questions about the iPhone Air’s ability to withstand drops and other daily hazards, emphasized that the thinner frame does not come with a compromise in durability. In addition to the use of 80-percent recycled grade 5 titanium, Apple said the iPhone Air sports its new Ceramic Shield 2 coating on the front for enhanced scratch resistance, and that the Ceramic Shield is also being extended to the back of the phone, making the rear glass more resistant to scratches and cracks, as well.
Overall, Apple said that the iPhone Air « exceeds » its own requirements for resisting bends. The model packs a 6.5-inch Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion up to 120 Hz and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. Users will likewise get access to Bluetooth 7, the N1 chip, and the latest version of Apple’s modem, the C1X. The 48 MP Fusion camera array, meanwhile, is akin to packing four lenses into the handset, despite what looks to be a single camera on the rear of the device.
The iPhone Air marks a major turning point for the iPhone’s design, but it’s yet to be seen whether consumers will embrace the ultra-slim smartphone. Real-world battery and strength tests will show whether the model is able to meet the demands of the average user, and whether any compromises have been made. Regardless, for those wanting the latest and greatest — and slimmest — hardware available, the iPhone Air is hard to resist.
