Details just beginning to come in. It’s still unclear exactly what happened, but it comes at a time when European cities are becoming more and more frequent targets for terrorists. England still reeling from the recent suicide bombing in Manchester just two weeks ago. ABC’s jenniferccleston with the very latest details. Reporter: Tom, this is still very much a developing story, with reports of a disturbing scene near London bridge, and now, also, at burough market, a restaurant nearby. Eyewitnesses near the area are reporting a white van veering off the road and striking pedestrians. There is an enormous police response arriving at the scene within minutes, followed by ambulances and police helicopters. Shots getting fired and bang, bang. But we just been bashed back by the police. There are people on the ground, everything looks — so, I didn’t see anything with my eyes, but my friend said, oh, there is a van, there is a van, and this van went into the people and then we saw three, four people living E lying on the ground. And then the police arrived and the ambulance arrived. Reporter: As you hear there, there are reports of injuries, bodies on the ground. Police have only confirmed that they are responding to an incident at London bring and also at burough market. People are becoming told to leave the area, avoid the area. Eerily reminiscent of the Westminster bridge attack that killed five people. Tom, this happened just minutes ago, another tragedy, another reason for this country to be on edge. London and Europe both on edge tonight. Jennifer, talk to us about those two areas, so, London bridge, just west of the famous tower bridge in London, and then burough market, how far apart are they from each other, and were they busy, about 10: 00 P. M. In London? Reporter: They’re very close to each other. They would be considered in the same, roughly the same neighborhood. Very popular with locals. But also with tourists. London bridge, obviously, a huge attraction for people to come visit this country. People wanting to get their picture taken there, with the bridge in the background lit at night. But the burough market is teeming with people on a Saturday night. It’s full of restaurants and bars. Jennifer Eccleston reporting for us tonight. Thank you, Jennifer. We’ll come back to you throughout the broadcast. We want to talk to somebody who was there tonight, an eye witness at a restaurant while this emergency was happening. He joins us on the phone right now. What did you see and what did you hear tonight? Well, I just heard, we were just around the corner from it, having dinner, just having dinner out with a few friends and my partner and literally all we hear is shots fired and quite loud bang. We ran to the windows, see lots of blue lights and police everywhere and look out of the window of our restaurant and we can see people lying on the floor and just ambulances and police response around them. The security of the restaurant is telling us to evacuate the restaurant, as quick as we can, the police are telling us to run up the road, further away from London bridge, and now we’re currently sitting in a bar, just in a safe spot, we’ve been told there’s security around, inside the perimeter here, and that’s all we know at the moment. They won’t tell us anything apart from what we’re seeing on social media. Were you closer to the scene, there’s two incidents, one at London bridge and one at the burr burough market. I was just having dinner across the road from the market. And my car is parked just outside burough market and I can’t even get to it. And the massive police presence you see on the scene, do you also see police still kind of running in and out, does it seem like the scene has been contained or is it still very much an active investigation? It looks like it’s very much active, but I think the police are doing a very quick job to get everything — to get it responded to, as quick as possible. They’re trying to do their hardest and it looks like they are trying to clear up the road and get everything contained as quickly as possible, which, I’m sure, is what everybody wants. All right, one of the eye witnesses tonight to those incidents in London, and we of course will stay on top of this story throughout the broadcast and update you as we get more information.

A young man caught up in the London Bridge incident has thanked two strangers who offered him a bed for the night after being left stranded.
George Moss, 22, was unable to get home after police put a cordon between Borough Market and Elephant and Castle.
Mr Moss, originally from Guernsey, also lost his phone during the evening, which meant he initially had no way of contacting family or friends to ask for a bed to stay.
After borrowing a phone from a reporter at the scene, Mr Moss was able to get in touch with Holly Robinson and Mary Lynch, who tweeted that strangers with nowhere else to stay could crash at their home in Vauxhall.
Speaking from his new, temporary accommodation, Mr Moss said: « I was out this evening trying to make my own way home at around 11.30pm but couldn’t make my way through anywhere.
« I met (a reporter) who lent me his phone so I tried to get hold of my mum and dad.
« After that I went towards Vauxhall and found Holly and Mary who very kindly gave me a place to stay.
 » (Without them) I would have been in a pickle, I wouldn’t have anywhere else to go.
« Having someone so close and so willing to help makes a massive difference. »
Ms Lynch, 23, from Nottingham, said: « I think we saw when things (terror attacks) had happened in Orlando and Manchester and thinking if I had been in that situation I would want to know that people were going to open up their homes. »
Ms Robinson, from Birmingham, said her original tweet was able to reach many followers after it was retweeted by former Newsround presenter Lizo Mzimba, who she once met after asking him for a selfie.
She said: « I just tweeted it (the offer) because we were here, we have friends stuck in various places. You have to give whatever you can, whenever you can.
« That’s all we wanted to do, we didn’t know if anyone would come but it was just to put the offer out there. »

The witness told the BBC that he saw a woman thrown 20 feet in the air.
An eyewitness described a scene of violence and disorder on London Bridge, where one of two police-described « terrorist incidents » took place in the city of London on Saturday night.
The eyewitness told the BBC that a van veered from side to side along the bridge, slamming into groups of people, and even throwing one woman « 20 feet in the air. »
The eyewitness described injured people lining the bridge in the wake of the van’s path. Police have not said whether there are any casualties in the London Bridge incident but the BBC is reporting that more than one person has died.
The van allegedly plowed into a bus stop and hit a bus, the eyewitness told the BBC.
Ten minutes later, the witness said, gunfire crackled south of the bridge, in the nearby Borough Market.
A photo posted by a Twitter user named Brad Myers shows bystanders staring down the bridge at the aftermath of the attack, and what appears to be injured people can be seen laying on the ground in the background.

Video posted on social media also showed a row of ambulances streaming away from the scene of the incidents.
In a statement, United Kingdom Prime Minister Theresa May confirmed the incidents are « being treated as a potential act of terrorism. »
“This is a fast-moving investigation,  » she said. « I want to express my huge gratitude to the police and emergency services who are on the scene. Our thoughts are with those who are caught up in these dreadful events.”
Jeremy Corbyn, the leader of the Labour Party, May’s opposition, called the incidents « brutal and shocking. »
« My thoughts are with the victims and their families. Thank you to the emergency services,  » Corbyn wrote on Twitter.

The BBC has published the above photo that appears to be of a London Bridge terror attack suspect on the ground with canisters strapped to his body.
The photo came from the Instagram page of a man named Gabriele Sciotto. “One social media user has published a picture of a man on the ground with what appeared to be canisters strapped to his body, ” BBC wrote.
Sciotto also posted photos of people running from the attack.
A photo was also published of another man being arrested in the Vauxhall area of London, although police are now saying that a Vauxhall incident is not related to the coordinated terrorist attacks in London at London Bridge and Borough Market.
London was struck with what may be three coordinated terrorist attacks on June 3. A van plowed into pedestrians on London Bridge, in an attack eerily reminiscent of the earlier assault on Westminster Bridge at UK Parliament. Then, a gang of about five men attacked a nearby pub with knives. A possible third incident was reported at Vauxhall.
A Daily Telegraph reported said on Twitter that it’s believed two terrorists were shot dead by the police.
Total casualty figures are not yet clear, and news reports said that some terrorists were shot by police and others were on the run. According to The Sun, as many as seven people were killed and up to 20 people were injured.
Prime Minister Theresa May said the attacks were suspected terrorism, and President Donald Trump vowed to provide the UK any assistance needed.
Vehicles have increasingly been used in terrorist attacks to cause mayhem, from France to Germany to Great Britain.
ISIS has claimed responsibility for previous attacks, but the influences and identities of the suspects in the June 3 attacks at London Bridge and nearby Borough Market are not yet known.
UK Telegraph called it a “terrorist rampage.” According to the British news site, “London Bridge and Borough Market have been hit in what appears to be two coordinated attacks south of the River Thames. A separate incident at Vauxhall is not connected, police have said.”
Other sites had reported that Vauxhall was being investigated as a possible third attack site.
“Witnesses reported up to 20 people injured. there were also reports of pedestrians being attacked with knives, ” reported The Telegraph.
A witness told BBC “they were running and stabbing everyone.”
