Alex Ross Takes Marvel to New Dimensions in New Graphic Novel

Get ready to fall in love with Alex Ross’ art all over again in the upcoming story, ‘Marvel Dimensions.’
For decades, Marvel and DC Comics readers have been regularly treated to the lovely photorealistic artwork of Alex Ross. For his next Marvel project, Ross is putting his talents as an artist and writer to use in a graphic novel that promises to offer up new spins and the publisher’s roster of characters.
Known as Marvel Dimensions, it’s his latest turn as a writer following 2022’s Fantastic Four: Full Circle. Where that book was 64 pages long, Dimensions will run 112 pages and will feature heavy hitters like Spider-Man, the X-Men, and Avengers. Plot-wise, Marvel’s currently being cryptic, only saying the book starts with the universe’s “iconic origins and slowly twists into something darker and more unpredictable.”
Ross himself described Marvel Dimensions as “as bonkers a ride for the reader as it could possibly be” to the Hollywood Reporter. “You’re getting one kind of entertainment, and then it changes on you midstream and then you’re getting a different art style suddenly…and then the format changes within the book itself. All these things hopefully seem to unify and combine and come back together, but it’s meant to be a wild ride that is throwing everything plus the kitchen sink at you.”

That format change arrives mid-book in the form of a 32-page story baked in and said to be key to the entire storyline. In full, Dimensions is built off of ideas Ross has had over the years, partly inspired by a similar origin retelling that he did for DC heroes like Batman and Wonder Woman back in 2005. Here, he’s looking to get a little “twisted,” hence the debut of around 200 characters—or at least their variants, a la Kingdom Come.

I’ve never met anyone with uncomplicated feelings toward Overwatch, especially if you count the years it spent sporting a number 2 on the end of its name, but it feels like the start of a new era for the decade-old hero shooter. The 2 is outta here, five new heroes are inbound, and the game is really fun right now. If you ask me, it’s been fun since Stadium hit the scene, but I digress—people are flocking back to the game in droves.
As spotted by Windows Central, the charts on SteamDB have seen a big upward trend in the last week. As I write this on a Sunday afternoon, it’s sitting at around 68,000 concurrent players, which is surprisingly close to its all-time peak of 75,608. Right now it’s just above DayZ and Call of Duty, and there was a bit there on Feb. 8 where it was well above Battlefield 6.
While that might not sound super impressive considering that Marvel Rivals is well into the six figures range, it’s worth noting that much of Overwatch’s community began playing and continue to on the Battle.net launcher. Exactly what percentage of the playerbase is represented on Steam isn’t clear, but as a vague indicator of the game’s popularity taken with a grain of salt, it shows that something is bringing people back.
I mean, it’s probably the cat. But there’s also all the new passive abilities divvied up by hero role, the lootbox refresh, the other four new heroes, and so on. The new season bringing all that isn’t even out yet, as it launches Feb. 10, but it beckons all the same.
I still mourn the possibilities that could have been unlocked by a proper PvE expansion to Overwatch, but it’s probably for the best that the game focuses on what people actually play it for: Its heroes and multiplayer modes. Hero shooter fans are spoiled for choice between third-person MOBA shooter Deadlock, caped crusade-’em-up Marvel Rivals, and even a mod that aims to recapture the magic of early Team Fortress 2, so it’s a great time to get back into whichever game tickles your fancy.

In her most recent post, Hoofnagle congratulated her future husband on his NFC Championship win with a pointed message for Seahawks fans.
“WE’RE NOT DONE YET!!!” she wrote alongside a photo of herself and Darnold locking lips on the field after the team’s win against the Rams.
Darnold has rarely discussed his relationship publicly. However, he previously gushed about his then-girlfriend and the “unbelievable” support he receives from her in a March 2025 Us Weekly interview.
“She just understands it. She’s a former athlete herself, and just gets kind of the grind of everything. When I just want to chill, she’s very up for that, especially during the season,” he said at the time.
He continued to tell the outlet that Hoofnagle helps him get out of the house during his off season.
“If she wants to go somewhere and I just want to chill, she’s like, ‘Let’s go out to dinner. We need to go to dinner.’”
“She’s great. She’s always been my biggest supporter. And I love her, and I thank her for that all the time,” he continued.
Hoofnagle has also made several appearances on his social media accounts.

車1台がスリップする単独事故、別の車による追突事故もあった。
