Utah center J. Dielman is headed to the NFL, as he was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the fifth round with the 176th overall pick of the NFL draft on Saturday.
Dielman was injured much of last season but had a successful career with the Utes, starting 31 games over three seasons. He played right tackle his first three years before moving to center as a senior, when he suffered a season-ending injury midway through the 2016 season.
The 6-foot-5,300-pounder was named All-Pac-12 second team as a junior in 2015.
He became the sixth former Ute to be taken in the 2017 draft, following tackle Garett Bolles (Denver) , safety Marcus Williams (New Orleans) , running back Joe Williams (San Francisco) , Isaac Asiata (Miami) and Brian Allen (Pittsburgh) .
