Since the original benchmarks for the ‘Unknown Heart’ smartphone, believed to be the upcoming Nokia 9, appeared on Geekbench, new results may have outed a second model with double the RAM.
Over the last couple of weeks, the rumored Nokia 9 has been shown off in leaks, along with information about key specifications which have included a Snapdragon 835 chipset, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, and Android Nougat 7.1.1. Benchmarks of the device have also appeared on Geekbench, recording some very solid single and multi-core results that would put it ahead of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Sony Xperia XZ Premium.
Since May 23rd, another 85 benchmark results for the ‘Unknown Heart’ device have appeared on Geekbench with most results being in the general vicinity of those previously posted. While this may lend some further credence to the existence of the alleged Nokia 9, a closer look at the four results recorded on May 25th has revealed a potential variant of the device packing 8GB of RAM.
Of course, this may need to be taken with a grain of salt given the somewhat anomalous processing scores compared to the vast majority of the other results. In addition, the processor speed in these benchmarks has been recorded at 1.9GHz, around 23% lower than Snapdragon 835’s maximum of 2.45GHz. However, it could well be that hardware samples have been deliberately slowed down until final optimizations are implemented.
With nearly half of 2017 having already having passed into history, anticipation will likely increase until HMD Global releases the remainder of its six or seven Android smartphones under the Nokia banner .
