Harry Styles is to be the subject of the latest one-off entertainment special from the BBC, following in the footsteps of singers Adele and Michael Buble.
«Harry Styles at the BBC» will see the former One Direction star perform tracks before a live studio audience from his bestselling self-titled debut solo album, as well as discuss his life and career with BBC Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw, it was announced Monday by BBC Music. The program will be recorded Aug. 30 in Manchester and will air on BBC One in November.
The one-hour program from BBC Studios will include Styles’ first television performances of several songs from his solo album. He will also chat about becoming a solo artist and his move into acting with Christopher Nolan’s «Dunkirk.»
«These shows are all about creating a world in which superstars like Harry feel incredibly comfortable and, alongside their brilliant, live performances, can simply have fun and enjoy revealing more of themselves to viewers than is ever normally possible, » said Guy Freeman, editor of special events and formats for BBC Studios.

Grimshaw added: «Harry is a great performer and full of so many wonderful stories about his extraordinary career, which he’ll be sharing with us.»
The format was first used by the BBC in 2015 for «Adele at the BBC, » an hour-long special, broadcast Nov. 20 that year, during which Adele performed tracks from her album «25» and chatted with Graham Norton. The BAFTA-nominated show drew an overnight audience of 4.54 million with a 19.8% share. Consolidated figures showed it attracted 6.36 million total viewers.
The special also featured a stunt where the singer impersonated herself in disguise alongside a group of Adele impersonators, which has been viewed over 60.6 million times on the BBC’s YouTube channel – its most-viewed video to date. The show aired on BBC America in February of the following year under the title «Adele: Live in London.»
The BBC repeated the format last year with Canadian singer Michael Buble.
The BBC Studios production will be executive produced by Anouk Fontaine. It was commissioned by Jan Younghusband, head of commissioning for BBC Music Television. BBC Worldwide is handling international distribution for «Harry Styles at the BBC.»
