A 9-year-old boy from Texas has become a viral sensation after his family posted a video of him singing Whitney Houston’s «I Have Nothing.»
A young boy by the name of Dane Miller is taking the internet by storm this week. The sweet 9-year-old, who has Down’s Syndrome, was recently filmed while riding in the car, singing a classic Whitney Houston song. The video (above) was posted on Facebook and has since gone viral; over 21 million people have viewed the video on Facebook.
“Is this boy not the sweetest thing ever?! He loves to sing ❤️ ❤️. Whitney would be proud #getthatboyamic #mynephewDanerocks, ” Dane’s aunt posted as the video’s caption.
Dane, who lives in Prosper, Texas, with his family, was filmed by his aunt while singing Houston’s hit song, “I Have Nothing.” As you can see in the video, Dane gets really into the song and really performs it quite well. It’s clear that he’s passionate about music — and perhaps about Whitney Houston. His mom revealed that her son is a big fan of Taylor Swift, too.
It didn’ t take long for the media to catch wind of this video and ABC News interviewed Dane’s family.
“He is just very vibrant. He’s very high-functioning so if he hears music, it’s just something that sticks with him. He’s very proud [of the video] . He just smiles and giggles, ” Dane’s aunt, Jeanne Miller, told ABC News.
“It’s crazy, exciting and stressful all at the same time because my phone has been blowing up all day. I go and read the comments and they’ re just so sweet. When we had Dane, we didn’ t know that he had Down syndrome, but it wouldn’ t have mattered. He has been probably the biggest blessing of our lives. He is just so loving and joyful. He is what’s good about this world, ” his mom, Danna Miller, said.
Dane now has his very own YouTube channel called “Amazing Dane” where his parents hope to upload more videos of him singing. Up next? “Cray Button” by Family Force 5. Stay tuned.
