Seger’s song «The Famous Final Scene» is the soundtrack to some of the most notable Pistons and concert moments in Palace history
Bob Seger’s Saturday concert at the Palace of Auburn Hills will be the venue’s final event, capping a nearly three-decade history of memorable shows and high-profile sports moments.
In a poignant video released today by Live Nation, Seger’s 1978 song «The Famous Final Scene» accompanies a montage of that colorful history, from Sting’s opening concert in 1988 up through this week.
Included are Detroit Pistons scenes — from the Bad Boys championship years on — along with an array of entertainers onstage at the Palace, including Paul McCartney, Madonna, Eminem, Elton John, Michael Jackson and Seger himself.
Seger’s Saturday show was confirmed last month to be the Palace’s closing event, as the Pistons head to the new Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.
