Google Arts and Culture App is in talks these days. Reason being its latest update that allows you to find your look alike. Now you may be thinking what’s new in that. There are numerous such games and apps that lets you find your doppelganger. Well, Google has added a twist to this search. The app spots not just your face match but in a form of famous vintage painting sitting in a nearby museum.
Google has updated the Arts and Culture App to version 6.0.5 and added this new capability to the app. It now allows you to click your selfies and then using the facial recognition technology finds your facial twin amidst the famous portraits placed in the nearby museums. This feature is available in select locations only. The update also brings minor bug fixes and improvements. Google has joined hands with more than 1,200 museums and galleries across 70 countries.
Google uses facial recognition technology for this feature. The AI detects the picture and then creates a face print of it. It is then matched with a particular images or database of images. » If you get a little more advanced, the same pattern recognition technology that powers facial detection can help a computer to understand characteristics of the face it has detected. For example, there might be certain patterns that suggest a face is wearing a beard or glasses, or that it has attributes like those. Information like this can be used to help with features like red-eye reduction or can let you lighten things up by placing a mustache or a monocle in the right place on your face when you are in a Hangout,» says Google.

Google Art and Culture app lets you meet the people, visit the places and learn about big historical events. It also allows you find your favourite artworks, create collections and share them with friends.
The app includes features like Zoom views, Virtual tours, browse by time and colour, art recognizer, notifications, and more. The app requires permission to access your phone’s location, camera, contacts and storage.
