The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed through reliable sources that John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, screenwriters for Spider-Man: Homecoming, are currently in talks with Warner Bros. to fill the empty void left after the departure of former director Rick Famuyiwa. This is after he agreed to take over from the original director Seth Grahame-Smith who parted ways as well over creative differences.
John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are known for their work in the comedy category with movies such as Horrible Bosses and Vacation. The jump to Spider-Man: Homecoming last year was surprising but it ended up earning more than $880 million worldwide. The duo has hence, decided to stick to the trending genre and believe that they can do justice to Flashpoint.
Flashpoint will see Ezra Miller fill the shoes of Barry Allen, the Flash, as he travels back in time to save his mother from being murdered. The journey seriously alters the course of history, creating a new timeline that severely impacts many of the most profound superheroes and supervillains in the future.
There is still no release date for Flashpoint, but it has been confirmed that Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman and Ben Affleck’s Batman will be involved in some capacity.
