Amazon launched its Prime services in India in July 2016 at an introductory annual subscription price of Rs 499. Initially, this guaranteed free one-day or two-day delivery on most products as well as offered exclusive Prime deals for members and later on Prime Video as well. After repricing its annual subscription to Rs 999 late last year, the company has now finally launched it Prime Music service in the country for Android and iOS users as well as on the web via music.amazon.in and will also be supported on Amazon Fire TV Stick.
Amazon Prime Music service was previously only available in India to those who owned an Echo smart speaker. But now, users will be able to download the Prime Music app via the Google Play Store or App Store or visit the website. Existing Prime members will be able to use the music streaming service from the get-go while those who have not subscribed to Amazon Prime will need to pay an annual subscription fee of Rs 999 to use Prime services that includes Prime Video and now Prime Music. This amounts to around Rs 83.25 per month, which is much cheaper than what services like Apple Music and Google Play Music ask for. To make the deal even sweeter, Airtel postpaid users can get the Prime service free for a year.
Earlier this year, Airtel announced an offer wherein its postpaid customers could get Prime service practically free of cost. All users need to do is have an Infinity plan of at least Rs 499 to enjoy Prime Video and Prime Music for a year. As of now, this deal is only available for Airtel postpaid users, but with Prime Music now in the mix, the offer looks even better. If youre already an Airtel postpaid customer on a monthly plan of Rs 499 or above, you can activate Prime via the Airtel TV app.

The Prime Music app also comes with Alexa voice control that will allow you to ask for your favorite music.
