A woman was shot to death Monday in what appeared to be an attempted carjacking, Houston police said.
Investigators hope surveillance video will help lead them to her killer.
According to police, the woman, identified as Kiesha Price, her boyfriend and her boyfriend’s uncle pulled into a Valero gas station in the 11200 block of Bissonnet in southwest Houston just after 11:30 p.m.
“It’s just really unreal right now,” said Minister Victor Price, Kiesha’s brother. “She had a heart, very bubbly very outspoken.”
She leaves behind a 5-year-old son.
When the two men got out of the white BMW and went into the convenience store, two other men on bicycles rode up beside the vehicle and tried to get inside, police said.
The men tried to pull Kiesha out of the vehicle, investigators said. As Kiesha, 31, struggled with the men, she was shot several times, according to police.
«I heard the one shot. Immediately we ran outside,» store clerk Madhu Kadangura said. «Police came and said there were three or four shots in her stomach.»
Kiesha was taken to a hospital, where she died.
Kiesha’s family told KPRC that she leaves behind her 5-year-old son, her mother and several siblings. The family says they are determined to figure out who did this.
“We definitely are a family of faith. We believe that God will see us through. We know that vengeance is his,” Victor said.
No one else was injured in the attempted carjacking, police said.

Customers who get gas at the Valero said they can’t understand it.
«They only took her life, that’s it. That don’t make no damn sense,» said one woman who did not want to be identified.
«I lived here for 38 years; when I hear something like this, it makes me feel unsafe,» said another woman who also wanted to remain anonymous.
