Frankie W. Hook, 37, was charged with two counts of aggravated fleeing police, one count of driving on a revoked license and one count of resisting arrest.
ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ill. – A man is facing charges after he led police from multiple jurisdictions on a chase that ended in a crash.
Frankie W. Hook, 37, was charged with eluding police and driving on a revoked among other counts Monday, two days after the chase and crash in Illinois.
A press release from the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department said police first spotted Hook swerving from the shoulder to the wrong side of the road on Illinois Route 163 when they tried to pull him over late Saturday night. He sped off and refused to stop.
They said he blew through stop signs and continued driving into the wrong lane. At some point, he drove off Mullins Road and drove through a field toward the levee. He drove over the levee and on to Route 3 in Cahokia, where Cahokia and Dupo officers joined in the chase.
Eventually, he lost control of the car and went into a ditch at the Route 3 and I-255 split. The press release said there were no injuries or accidents caused by the chase.
Hook — of Cahokia, Illinois — was charged with two counts of aggravated fleeing police, one count of driving on a revoked license and one count of resisting arrest.
His bond was set at $75,000.
