The video game developer Epic Games announces plans to add a Practice Mode for a limited time to its multiplayer sandbox survival title Fortnite Battle Royale.
Ever since Epic Games released the free-to-play Battle Royale portion of Fortnite, gamers have been consistently causing the multiplayer sandbox survival title’s popularity to skyrocket in both the gaming community and the world at large. Of course, with its trendiness steadily increasing on a daily basis, there are surely plenty of newcomers making their way into combat who might need a few primers in regards to how its mechanics work. Thankfully, the developer has announced plans to address this issue by finally introducing a Practice Mode to the title.
According to a fresh blog post penned by Epic Games today, Fortnite is set to add the Practice Mode under the name “Playground LTM”, and it will load players into the Battle Royale map with adjusted settings. For instance, those checking out the LTM will have the ability to fight and build as much as they want with no real repercussions due to the addition of respawning, they will be offered “an extended period of time” to explore the map, and they can generate more resources than in the main game. Plus, it will allow squads so that folks can “scrimmage” with their pals due to friendly fire being turned on.
As far as Epic Games explains it, Playground LTM should provide Fortnite players with ample opportunities to actually practice their combat skills, learn the lay of the land better, and master the difficulties of constructing on the fly without having to worry about being shot at by the competition. As of now, though, the developer has yet to provide a date or release window as to when the mode will go live, but with updates typically happening on a weekly basis, it could come as soon as next Tuesday.
Although Fortnite‘s Playground feature will be an LTM – that is, a Limited Time Mode – Epic Games has stated that it represents the studio’s first foray into actually developing a full-fledged creative mode for the title. With this being the case, it’s a safe bet to make that players will not only use the feature as a means to hone their skills for Battle Royale, but also craft some unique and highly intricate areas all their own, which could end up inspiring Epic Games in the long run.
