CD Projekt Red has revealed the Cyberpunk 2077 PC specs for the demo they showed some people behind closed doors at E3 2018.
Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the most talked about game at E3 2018. Its impressive showing caused some people to think that it wasn’t even on this generation of systems, despite what developer CD Projekt Red has stated themselves. Today, the developer came out and revealed the Cyberpunk 2077 PC specs they used for the E3 demo. Keep in mind that these requirements will probably change before the game releases, whenever that may be.
In the game’s official Discord channel, Junior Community Specialist at CD Projekt Red Alicja Kozera listed what the demo ran on. It’s a beefy rig, but not an impossible supercomputer from the future. Take a look at what the developer had to show the game on:
CPU: Intel i7-8700K @ 3.70 GHz
MB: ASUS ROG STRIX Z370-I GAMING
RAM: G. Skill Ripjaws V, 2x16GB, 3000MHz, CL15
GPU: GeForce GTX 1080 Ti
SSD: Samsung 960 Pro 512 GB M.2 PCIe
PSU: Corsair SF600 600W
It is worth nothing that the demo CD Projekt Red showed behind closed doors most likely was not as well optimized as it should be when the final game comes out. That work usually happens at the end of a game’s development cycle. Also, putting the game on the PS4 and Xbox One gives an indicator of what the lower end of the spectrum might be. These Cyberpunk 2077 PC specs from the E3 demo are probably meant to give players a ballpark figure of what they might need in order to run the game.
The studio has been both very open and pretty discrete about Cyberpunk 2077. A trailer, lengthy demo, and a ton of details were more than most people would have suspected after the long silence after its debut teaser in 2012. But CDPR has been quiet about the game’s mysterious release date, adopting Blizzard’s signature «when it’s ready» stance.
However, some documentation from the developer about the game’s funding from the European Union revealed that the money is for a project until June 2019. This has led people to believe that the game will come out sometime within the first half of 2019 despite the lack of an official date.
