New compatibility update published by Microsoft
The update is listed as KB4135058 and is available via Windows Update right now, with Microsoft explaining on the official KB page that it’s downloaded and installed automatically.
The purpose of this update isn’t very clear, but the software giant explains that it “makes improvements to ease the upgrade experience to Windows 10 version 1709.”
Most likely, this is just an error and the update is actually supposed to enhance the transition from Windows 10 Fall Creators Update to April 2018 Update, which has only recently been released and is now Microsoft’s key focus.

A bit more transparency would definitely help, especially considering all this criticism.
There’s also another odd mention on the KB page. The company says that “Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the Applies to section,” and this can mean anything from the update fixes problems in the Fall Creators Update to there’s an issue in this patch.
In the meantime, Windows 10 Fall Creators Update systems are getting the update automatically, and it remains to be seen if any unexpected behavior will be experienced.
