On «The Last Show,» Stephen Colbert mocked Omarosa’s claim she heard a tape of Donald Trump saying the n-word: «Finally we have proof» Trump «is a racist»
Stephen Colbert mocked Omarosa Manigault-Newman’s recent claims that she has heard tape of President Trump using the N-word by sarcastically suggesting that Trump has already said and done lots of things to cause people to call him a racist.
In his opening monologue on “The Late Show” Monday, Colbert brought up Manigault-Newman’s new book, “Unhinged,” which has rekindled her feud with Trump that first sparked after she was fired in December from her job as a White House aide.
“Yet another close adviser of president trump has betrayed him,” Colbert said. “The White House is basically a reboot of The Last Supper — Oops! All Judases.”

Colbert showed an image of Leonardo da Vinci’s famed painting “The Last Supper,” but with Judas Iscariot standing in for all the apostles around Jesus Christ — a joke referencing the 1990s Cap’n Crunch cereal spin-off “Oops! All Berries.”
“Now we know why Trump didn’t get a dog — because he knows the dog is just going to write a tell-all: ‘White House Broken: My Ruff Tenure as Presidential Pet,’” Colbert continued.
Talking about Manigault-Newman, who he said looked like “a realtor handing you a business card at a funeral,” Colbert joked that there’s nothing in the recent allegations that wasn’t already well-known among Americans.

“Omarosa has written a salacious new book filled with shocking details that you already knew,” he said. “So Trump is the one who’s ‘Unhinged.’ I thought the title referred to what Steven Miller does with his jaw to eat his breakfast gazelle.”
Most recently, Manigault-Newman has claimed she heard a tape recorded by someone else in which Trump used the N-word.
“This is huge,” Colbert said, putting on a grave face. “Finally — we didn’t know. Finally we have proof that the guy who refused to rent to black tenants, said that a Nazi-klan rally had some fine people and called Africa a s—hole, is a racist.”

Colbert was referring to things Trump has received criticism for, both before he was president and during his tenure in the White House. First, Colbert referenced a 1973 lawsuit in which the Department of Justice sued the Trump Management Corporation, accusing the company of refusing to rent to black tenants. Trump settled with the DOJ, and while the company didn’t admit any wrongdoing, he agreed to sign a letter in 1975 pledging not to discriminate against people of color in renting.
The second part of Colbert’s joke referred to Trump’s comments in the wake of the Unite the Right rally in 2017 in Charlottesville, North Carolina, which saw white supremacists marching and chanting “Jews will not replace us.” After a car was driven into a crowd allegedly by a white supremacist, and a counter-protester, Heather Heyer, was killed, Trump said that both sides were to blame — and that there were very fine people on both sides.
The final portion of Colbert’s comment referred to Trump’s January comments on immigration. According to reports, several people in a meeting with Trump said he asked, “Why are we having all these people from s—hole countries come here?” Trump was reportedly referring to African countries, El Salvador and Haiti, the subjects of the meeting.
