The new 2018 iPhones are here, and the biggest and baddest of them, is called the iPhone Xs Max. This is the biggest display ever on an iPhone, but the phone is just as big as the iPhone 8 Plus.
In this post, we will be comparing the new iPhone Xs Max, with the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, and the Sony Xperia XZ3. The iPhone Xs Max has a larger screen than both the Galaxy Note 9, and the Sony Xperia XZ3, but is still smaller than them.
The Apple iPhone XS Max is going to be an expensive affair in India. As per sources, the phone will be priced at Rs. 1,09,000 for the base variant, which comes with 64GB of internal storage.
On the other hand, the Galaxy Note 9 is priced at Rs. 67,900 for the 128GB variant, whereas the Xperia XZ3 will cost you around Rs. 63,000. In terms of value for money, the Galaxy Note 9 wins this round.
If you like notched displays with slim bezels, then you’re going to love the new iPhone Xs Max. It is pretty much the same as the previous gen iPhone X, but now comes in a new Gold color option. It gets a large 6.5-inch OLED display with 120Hz touch response, HDR10 support, and 2688×1242 resolution.
The Galaxy Note 9 comes with a 6.4-inch QHD+ SuperAMOLED Infinity Edge display, with bezels on top and bottom. Finally, the Xperia XZ3 has a 6-inch QHD+ HDR OLED display with bezels all around. Both the Galaxy Note 9 and the Xperia XZ3, feature a glass body with aluminium frame, similar to the iPhone Xs Max. This round goes to the iPhone Xs Max.
The Apple iPhone Xs Max comes with the all new A12 Bionic chipset, which is 15 percent faster in terms of performance, 50 percent faster in terms of gaming, and up 40 percent more efficient. The new iPhones also come with a maximum storage of 512GB. We are pretty sure the new iPhone Xs Max will top all the Android smartphones out there.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 9, and the Sony Xperia XZ3, both come with the Snapdragon 845 chipset. While the Note 9 gets a maximum of 8GB RAM and 512GB storage, the Xperia XZ3 tops out at 4GB RAM and 128GB storage.
In the camera department, the Galaxy Note 9 has a better camera setup, but it looks like the new iPhone Xs Max could win the battle. It’s got bigger lenses, same vertical setup as the iPhone X, a primary 12MP wide-angle lens with f/1.8 aperture, and a secondary 12MP telephoto lens with f/2.4. However, thanks to the new A12 Bionic chipset, the phone has a Smart HDR mode and depth control. On the front, you get the TrueDepth and FaceID setup, with a 7MP selfie camera.
The Galaxy Note 9 also comes with two 12MP sensors, the primary unit is a dual-aperture lens, allowing you to switch between f/1.5 and f/2.4. This is still better than Apple’s offering. The secondary lens is another 12MP telephoto lens. There’s an 8MP camera up front.
On the Sony Xperia XZ3, you only get one camera at the back. A 19MP Motion Eye Exmor RS sensor, which is great in daylight and low-light, but will not win against the other two. A 13MP camera resides on the front.
We are not really sure about the battery capacity of the iPhone Xs Max, but according to Apple, it will last an hour and half more than the iPhone X. It supports fast charging, but only comes with a 5W charger. There’s wireless charging as well. The phone will run iOS 12.

In conclusion, the overall winner here is the new iPhone Xs Max. Apple has surely added a lot of new software features, and the A12 Bionic chip is nothing but great. However, when you look at the pricing, the Galaxy Note 9 seems like the best deal.
