A 78-year-old man failed to yield at an intersection, police say, crashing into another vehicle.
LOWELL, MI — A 78-year-old man was injured seriously Sunday, Sept. 2, after he failed to yield at an intersection and crashed into another vehicle, police say.
Kent County Sheriff’s deputies responded at about 12:40 p.m. Sunday to Morse Lake Ave and 52nd Street in Lowell Township.
The police investigation found the 78-year-old man from Alto, who was driving a 1987 Suzuki Samurai, failed to yield at the intersection. The car collided with a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer, driven by a 43-year-old Caledonia woman.
The male driver was taken by Rockford Ambulance to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital with serious injuries. The female driver was not injured.
The crash is still under investigation.
