Samsung sent out invites for its next Galaxy Unpacked event, taking place in San Francisco on 20 February, the week before Mobile World Congress kicks off, and the company confirmed in its earning report the event will be for the Galaxy S10. Samsung
A report from Gizmodo claimed preorders would start immediately after the event, followed by an 8 March release date.
In terms of pricing, there have been several rumours. Gizmodo claimed the S10 would start at £799 and the S10+ at £899. TuttoAndroid then claimed the S10 would cost between €929 and €1179, while the S10+ would cost between €1049 and €1599.
Online leaker Ishan Agarwal has since claimed the S10 would be priced between €899 and €1149 and the S10+ between €999 and €1499 so exact pricing is currently unknown. A radical design change makes sense for the Galaxy S10 given it’s the 10th anniversary of the Galaxy S device and it looks like that’s what we will get.
New colours have been rumoured, alongside gradient options, something Huawei and Honor are keen on, but all the rumours and leaks are centralised around an in-display front camera. This was first suggested by Bloomberg, and later supported by prolific leaker Evan Blass.@evleaks
Blass tweeted an image claiming to be a «Galaxy S10 Beyond 1 in the wild», which presented a device showing super slim bezels, and a punch hole camera in the top right corner of the display. An ‘in the wild’ image then appeared of the S10+ too, thought to be of a Samsung worker in Korea using the device on a train.
Renders from CompareRaja showing the S10, S10+ and S10 Lite (now confirmed to be called S10e), supported both the designs seen in the live images while also offering a little more information. It highlighted the S10+’s dual front camera for example, as well as in-display fingerprint sensors for the S10 and S10+. Weibo
A couple of images then appeared on Chinese social media site Weibo and Slashgear giving more of an idea about the rear of the S10 and S10+.
Evan Blass also shared an image on Twitter showing the S10 and S10+ encased, with the rears more prominent than the front and there were also some more images on Slashleaks showing both the S10 and S10+ from the back.1/3Slashleaks
All leaked images support a triple rear camera in a horizontal line up with a flash to the right, including some press renders on 91Mobiles and WinFuture.
