Free-agent quarterback Cam Newton agreed to a one-year contract with the New England Patriots on Sunday. And San Francisco 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman felt Newton wasn’t paid what he deserves.
Newton, plagued with a string of injuries over the last several seasons, will get an opportunity to prove his value under Super Bowl-winning coach Bill Belichick and then try to capitalize on a long-term deal in 2021.
The one-year deal is worth up to $7.5 million with incentives.
