Speakers of various backgrounds are slated to speak at next week’s Democratic National Convention, highlighting the theme «Uniting America» while sharing the stories of Americans who are struggling during the global coronavirus pandemic. Presumptive nominee Joe Biden announced he would not be traveling to the host town of Milwaukee due to coronavirus risks. Instead Biden will accept the presidential nomination and attend the convention from Delaware. Other speakers will attend virtually as well. The DNC has not formally release the schedule of speakers, but here’s who we know will be speaking so far: Both Barack and Michelle Obama have speaking spots at the convention, but which nights they will be speaking is unclear. The former president endorsed Biden, his own vice president, in April after Sanders suspended his campaign. «Choosing Joe to be my vice president was one of the best decisions I ever made, and he became a close friend. And I believe Joe has all the qualities we need in a president right now,» he said in the video. USA TODAY confirmed Clinton will address the convention Wednesday night, the same night Biden’s nominee for vice president – a woman expected to be named this week – will speak. Harris, who ended her own bid for president in December, is considered a top contender to be Biden’s running mate.
