In the United States, there is no uniform structure to how the vaccines are distributed and administered to patients. New variants of the virus have added another wrinkle as to the effectiveness of the vaccine. Getting vaccines into arms isn’t the only issue faced by health departments. The pandemic has taken a toll on medical facilities and the availability of equipment. There continues to be uncertainty around symptoms and how age groups are affected. Even a year in, the learning curve around Covid-19 is huge. To better understand the impact of Covid-19 and the effectiveness of vaccinations, government leaders are turning to data. Israel and Pfizer made a deal. Pfizer will supply enough vaccines to vaccinate every citizen over 16 years old by the end of March. In return, Israel will provide anonymized data that will include «consequences of the inoculations, side effects, efficacy and the amount of time it takes to develop antibodies, according to different types of population, age, gender, pre-existing conditions, and other factors,» according to Healthcare IT News.
