Singer-songwriter Rosé makes history in America this week with her first-ever solo single, which has quickly become a very important win simply by charting at all. The Blackpink star’s “On The Ground” debuts at No.70 on the most recently published Hot 100, Billboard ’s list of the most-consumed tracks in the largest music market in the world. Rosé scores a rare solo hit by a South Korean musician on the Hot 100, and thanks to its relatively lofty placement, the cut now stands out as one of the best-performing among releases from some of the biggest names in the K-pop space. By arriving at No.70, “On The Ground” is already the fourth-highest-charting song by a solo South Korean musician in U.S. history. To this day, the highest-charting cut by a South Korean artist working on their own is Psy’s “Gangnam Style.
