Patriots teammates react to Sony Michel trade: ‘Definitely tough’

Michel spent three seasons in New England and won a Super Bowl as the team’s starting running back in 2018.
Before practice Wednesday, the Patriots traded running back Sony Michel to the Rams for a reported pair of draft picks. Michel’s exit proved what’s been evident to anyone watching the Pats’ preseason: their running backs room is loaded. In his place, second-year runner J.J. Taylor and fourth-round rookie Rhamondre Stevenson are expected to take more carries behind projected starter Damien Harris. Still, after three seasons and one Super Bowl win, Michel leaves a hole in New England. Here’s how a few of Michel’s former teammates reacted to the trade after practice Wednesday: C David Andrews “Yeah, you know, I was fortunate enough to be a teammate of him in college… I knew what kind of person he was, obviously, you know, was super excited when we drafted him, got to be his teammate another three years, or three and a half, or four, whatever.
