Trio breaks into Huron Valley Guns in New Hudson, alarming sheriff

Owner Ed Swadish said it’s the first break-in at the store since opening in 2017.
Huron Valley Guns, known for its guns and shooting range, suffered an early-morning break-in, the first since owner Ed Swadish opened the New Hudson business in 2017. Nothing was taken, but the trio entered the building after one of them used a concrete block to break a window. Apparently, they then moved through the dining area and tried to enter the store showroom. According to Swadish, they jiggled the door handle and gave up when it didn’t open. “I don’t think it was a serious crew looking for guns,” Swadish said. “They didn’t know where they were going. They first tried to go in the bathroom doors. It was pretty much kids. “We preempt this type of stuff with some pretty good security measures.” Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard still was concerned.
