From punk rock and EDM to Halloween classics, there are several options for spooky concerts this haunting season.
While theme parks have summoned their monsters and independent haunted attractions are popping up across Southern California for this spooky season, several concert venues are gearing up to host live performances on Halloween weekend. There are significantly fewer concerts this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but there are still several options for fans of live music to dress up in costumes, howl along to the lyrics and shake their bones on the dance floor. Please note that each venue has its own list of health and safety measures, including clear bag and COVID-19 vaccination policies, so be sure to check the venue websites prior to the show date. “The Nightmare Before Christmas” Live-to-Film Experience A live orchestra and choir will perform the music from Disney’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” along with the film as composer Danny Elfman sings the songs of Jack Skellington with special guests Billie Eilish as Sally, “Weird Al” Yankovic as Lock and Ken Page, the original singing voice of Oogie Boogie. Thrice Irvine-based rock band Thrice, which has a tradition of hosting Halloween shows, is inviting fans to dress up and celebrate again this season. The group has been out in support of its latest album, “Horizons/East,” which dropped on Epitaph Records in September, and will wrap up its latest tour with a pair of shows on Halloween weekend in Southern California.
