The 2021 Major League Baseball (MLB) playoffs begin October 5 with the AL Wild Card game between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox, followed by the NL Wild Card game between the St. Louis Cardinals and Los Angeles Dodgers on October 6. MLB playoff games are broadcast nationally by Fox Sports 1, Fox, ESPN, TBS, and MLB Network, with different matches set for different stations. You’ll need to subscribe to a cable provider or live TV streaming service like YouTube TV, Sling TV, or DirecTV Stream to watch them all. ESPN will air the AL Wild Card game live from Boston at 8:08 p.m. ET on October 5; the winner of the single elimination game will then face the Tampa Bay Rays in the ALDS. If you’re an ESPN cable subscriber you can use your TV provider to log in and stream the game from ESPN.com, or with the ESPN app. The game is not included with ESPN+. The NL Wild Card game between the Cardinals and Dodgers will air on TBS at 8:10 p.m. ET on October 6. TBS also lets cable subscribers log in with their TV provider to stream via TBS.com or the TBS app. The MLB wild card games will be held on October 5 and 6.
