— The college football community is rallying around Mississippi State football coach Mike Leach, and it was made apparent via social media.
Leach was admitted to the hospital on Sunday with a «personal health issue» and is in critical condition, the university said in a statement on Monday.
After he was airlifted to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson on Sunday night, an outpouring of support came his way.
The «Prayer Raid» is in full force.
His colleagues were among the first to respond, including Southern Cal coach Lincoln Riley, who comes from Leach’s coaching tree. Riley was a walk-on quarterback at Texas Tech early in Leach’s 10-year tenure with the Red Raiders. He then worked as a graduate assistant and receivers coach prior to Leach’s firing in 2009.
«Prayers for my good friend Mike Leach,» Riley tweeted. «Please keep Coach and his family in your prayers.»
