Taliban government has suspended university education for all female students in Afghanistan, in public and private universities. A letter published by the education ministry said the decision was made in a cabinet meeting and the order will go into effect immediately. The decision came as many university students are sitting for end-of-term exams. Many were aspiring to choose engineering and medicine as future careers.The Taliban motivated they preserve “national interest” and women’s “honour.” Human Rights Watch criticized the ban on Tuesday.
