Destiny 2 is making its Witch Queen DLC freely available for all players to access for a limited time, according to the latest in-game announcement. Often touted as one of Destiny’s finest expansion packs, Witch Queen has introduced a number of important elements to the game that ended up shaping the developer’s approach to the upcoming Lightfall DLC as well, making the new offer particularly noteworthy.
While Destiny 2 has certainly had its ups and downs over the years, last year’s Witch Queen DLC and its subsequent seasonal content stand out in Bungie’s long portfolio. Aside from its variety of powerful Exotic items and the addition of veritable weapon crafting, most players also agree that its campaign sits a notch above the usual Destiny DLC fare.
Anyone logging into Destiny 2 as of February 23 will be greeted with a message saying that one of its most critically acclaimed DLCs is going to be available for free until February 26.
