It may come as no surprise to anyone following his activities since leaving office that former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson said Sunday he will join the race for the Republican presidential nomination.
“As I’ve traveled the country for six months, I hear people talk about the leadership of our country, and I’m convinced that people want leaders that appeal to the best of America, and not simply appeal to our worst instincts,” the two term Republican governor said on ABC’s This Week.
Hutchinson, a former U.S. prosecutor, congressman and head of the Drug Enforcement Agency, is a noted and outspoken critic of the current Republican front runner, former President Donald Trump.
