How to watch Freeform if you’re a Spectrum customer.
Following almost two weeks of blacked out Disney channels, the Walt Disney Company and Charter’s Spectrum have finally reached a deal.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the companies announced Monday that ESPN, Disney Channel, local ABC channels and FX will once again be available to basic cable viewers. So for those sports fans who may have missed the U.S. Open finals, the beginning of the NFL season, or the return of college football, don’t fret any longer.
The two companies’ CEOs — Disney’s Bob Iger and Charter’s Chris Winfrey — even acknowledged in a joint press statement that this deal came “in time for Monday Night Football.”
“Our collective goal has always been to build an innovative model for the future,” they said. “This deal recognizes both the continued value of linear television and the growing popularity of streaming services while addressing the evolving needs of our consumers. We also want to thank our mutual customers for their patience this past week and are pleased that Spectrum viewers once again have access to Disney’s high-quality sports, news and entertainment programming…”
However, you may notice some of Disney’s channels left off of the above list — Freeform, Disney XD, Disney Junior, FXX and Nat Geo Wild will remain pulled from Spectrum customers’ plans.
