Lasting until December, the Fall 2023 anime lineup has the potential to be great. As always, the season has a number of highly anticipated sequels such as Goblin Slayer, Spy x Family, and The Eminence in the Shadow, just to name a few. In terms of new properties, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, Undead Unluck, and The Apothecary Diaries are all exciting releases.
Nowadays, seasonal anime series are spread across a few platforms, namely Crunchyroll, HIDIVE, Hulu, and Netflix. If someone wants to watch everything that Fall 2023 has to offer, they will need to invest in multiple subscriptions; even then, a few anime will likely not stream officially on Western platforms.

Crunchyroll has announced its Fall 2023 anime lineup, and the selection maintains the platform’s standard level of quantity and quality. Crunchyroll is the only streaming service that can satisfy both of those criteria, offering subscribers more than 40 simulcast series. Obviously, some shows will not attract much mainstream attention, but their availability on Crunchyroll will at least make them accessible to as wide of an audience as possible.
In terms of sequels, Spy x Family, Goblin Slayer, The Rising of the Shield Hero, The Ancient Magus’ Bride, Dr. Stone: New World, The Faraway Paladin, Girlfriend, Girlfriend, Heaven Official’s Blessing, Kizuna no Allele, The Saint’s Magic Power is Omnipotent, and Dead Mount Death Play are all airing cours on Crunchyroll. Most of these shows are fairly popular, and they are unlikely to lose much momentum during Fall. Jujutsu Kaisen’s second season will also continue to air new episodes.
When it comes to new properties, Crunchyroll has a couple of exciting picks. Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End and The Apothecary Diaries are both based on beloved source material, with the former being especially highly regarded. I’m in Love with the Villainess could prove to be one of 2023’s best isekai anime, while Shangri-La Frontier should be a fun action-fantasy series.
