Ronna McDaniel’s resignation as the chairwoman of the Republican National Committee (RNC) has sparked celebration from the supporters of the MAGA movement.
Former President Donald Trump’s fans rejoiced in Monday’s news that McDaniel was stepping down from her position after losing the Republican primary frontrunner’s support.
«Ronna McDaniel officially announces her resignation as RNC chair…Bout f***ing time,» conservative political commentator Gunther Eagleman said in a post on X, formerly Twitter, on Monday.
«Ronna Romney McDaniel is no longer the Chair of the RNC. GOOD BYE AND GOOD RIDDANCE,» Ryan Fournier, the co-founder and acting national chairman of Students for Trump, wrote.
McDaniel, the second woman to serve as RNC chair and longest serving chair since the Civil War, announced Monday that she was resigning after seven years of leadership. She said she would make her departure at the party’s spring training meeting in Houston, Texas, to «allow our nominee to select a Chair of their choosing.»
Her resignation is expected to take effect March 8, three days after Super Tuesday.
